Mike Miller (trombone) is a native of
Spartanburg. He attended Spartanburg High School and Furman University, where he
was a member of the Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Ensemble.
Since returning to Spartanburg in 1989, he
has been a very active member of the local music scene and has performed with
many local ensembles. He currently is a member of the
Spartanburg
Community Band, Spartanburg Jazz Ensemble, and
the Palmetto Posaunen, a professional trombone choir led by Dr. Mark Britt at
Furman University. He has been a featured soloist with the Converse College Wind
Ensemble and
the Spartanburg Community Band.
When not playing trombone, Mike can be
found getting muddy on his mountain bike or trying to earn a living with his
computer service business,
On-Site Support.
He helped found the Sparkle City Brass in
the Spring of 2004 and is excited about playing with this group of fine
musicians.
